The award-winning Solem Quartet is looking for a composer to write an ambitious new work as part of Beethoven Bartók Now: Pioneers, to take place in Spring 2022. An adventurous six-part series, Beethoven Bartók Now brings together the late quartets of Beethoven and the quartets of Bartók, uniquely reimagined with music from composers of today.

The winner of the Call for Scores competition will receive a prize of £1500; their 15 minute work will interact with and respond to Bartók’s Quartet no. 1 and Beethoven’s Quartet no. 14, op. 131.

Application is now closed; results to be announced at the end of March 2021.
