The Solem Quartet are highly experienced session musicians and have a diverse portfolio of recording work, both as individual musicians and as a quartet. They are skilled arrangers and orchestrators, and are comfortable working in collaborative settings across multiple genres.

Whether in contemporary classical, pop, jazz, music for TV and film, experimental music or commercial recordings sessions, the quartet enjoy bringing their wealth of experience and open minded attitude to sessions and working together to produce high quality recordings. They have recorded and played alongside artists such as Eric Clapton, Mumford and Sons, Eminem, Johnny Greenwood, Thom Yorke, Foals, Sigur Ros, NCZA Lines, Paul Weller and Michael Buble. They have recorded at all the major London studios as well as further afield, and appeared on movie soundtracks including The Two Popes, Midsommar and The Matrix.

The Solems’ album “The Four Quarters” was released in 2021, featuring an eclectic mix of classical music from Baroque to contemporary, including many of the quartet’s own arrangements. Listen here. The Quartet’s next record, “Painted Light” will be released with Delphian Records in Autumn 2023.
