< Back to NewsNovember residency at University of Liverpool
Next week, we’ll be heading to the University of Liverpool for the first of this academic year’s residencies. We’re excited to be working again this year with students and lecturers, and performing in the wonderful Leggate Theatre.
For the Liverpool public (and everyone at the University), we’ll be performing Bartók and Schumann at the Leggate at 1pm on Wednesday 7th. Following the concert, from 2.30pm-4pm, we’ll be unpacking Schumann incredible 3rd Quartet in an Analysis Live! session with Kenneth Smith and Richard Worth. The last analysis workshop with Kenneth and Richard was really intriguing for us, as well as the audience (we hope…)! Get your tickets for the concert here, and for Analysis Live! here.
If you can’t be at Liverpool, don’t worry – the concert and workshop will be streamed on the University of Liverpool website, and to the Royal Northern College of Music!
For students we’ll also be in classes; on Tuesday we’ll be playing in Tony Shorrocks’ class with Masters Music Performance students, and on Thursday in Michael Spitzer’s Classical Music History and Aesthetics classes.
Here’s something to warm you up for our concert on the 7th – Bartók’s 4th Quartet filmed this summer at Wigmore Hall, which we performed on our last visit to Liverpool!
Many thanks to Dr. Helen Thomas for organising our residency and making us so welcome at the University. For details of other Lunchtime Concert Series events this term have a look here: https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/music/events/lunchtime-concert-series/
